Antfarm Pretoria Antnest
Our roots extend deep into the fertile economic grounds of South Africa's busiest province, Gauteng.
Antfarm moved into our current main office premises in Ashlea Gardens, Pretoria in October 2008, along with a staff complement of 7 worker Ants.
Today, the Antnest is a thriving colony of 17 staff based in Pretoria. Frequent visitors to the Antnest are our partner teams of freelancers and contractors who support the Ants in the professional delivery of streaming solutions to our clients. Our working environment is an informal, unconventional space which inspires innovation and creative expression, as well as fostering world class technology practices.
We have been serving streams since inception in 2000
Antfarm has touched the lives of millions of people in South Africa and globally, going from strength to strength in evolving our solutions and delivery. Antfarm was co-founded by Marek Dziembowski, who remains an active director and leader in the business. We pioneered the adoption of both radio streaming and the use of live video streaming in South Africa. The business has grown to a thriving colony of 20 full time Ants between CT and Pretoria, and a crew of partners and associates. Clients ranging from listed multinational corporates through to small community radio stations trust us with their live communication needs to internal and external stakeholders.S
Antfarm has pioneered streaming technology and its use in Southern Africa, and established the company as the leading provider of streaming services to broadcasters, government, and corporate markets throughout South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Lesotho.
Our aim since launching has been to enable any organisation, be it media broadcasters, corporations, government or academic institutions, to share rich media content over internal networks and over the Internet; live and on-demand, to communicate its message to anyone, anywhere.
To deliver these services, we have developed a suite of bespoke products and, despite historical bandwidth constraints, we have successfully pioneered streaming technology in South Africa and now own and operate a global, high-capacity streaming content distribution network (CDN) with multiple nodes in South Africa, as well as Europe and the US to ensure the efficient delivery of an organisation’s online broadcasting requirements, be they audio or video.
We utilise corporate networks and the Internet to reach local and global audiences via streaming, webcasting, podcasting and encrypted content delivery.
